Calling for more refuges for those fleeing domestic abuse in Cumbria

📺 WATCH

📜 Last month the landmark Domestic Abuse Bill passed through the House of Commons.

🤝 I was delighted to back the Government's legislation that protects all victims of domestic abuse, including children, and ends the so-called 'rough sex' defence.

🗣 Today in Parliament I raised the issue of refuges with the Home Secretary.

🚨 Local organisations like Women's Community Matters are rightly concerned by the lack of local provision for those fleeing domestic abuse, and I've asked the Home Secretary for support to fund more local services for those in need.
